Free Lacrosse Clinic & 1st Men's Lacrosse Games

Nicknamed “the fastest sport on two feet”, lacrosse is a fast-paced and competitive team sport that has its origins in the Native American sport which communities would play in preparation for war. The goal of the game is similar to that of many sports – to get the ball in the net of the opposite team using a special stick. Anatolia College and the American College of Thessaloniki - ACT play a significant role in spreading the sport of lacrosse in Greece by creating an Anatolia High School club lacrosse team and organizing games and clinics. With efforts starting in 2017 to bring lacrosse to the school level of play along with collaboration with the Greece Lacrosse Association and the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL), Anatolia College organized the first lacrosse clinic.

Another free clinic will take place on Friday 1 November 2019 at 4 pm on the premises of Anatolia College Alumni Soccer Field. The clinic is open for coaches, athletes, and all interested parties, and it will be led by American and Bulgarian coaches. The next day, Saturday 2nd of November, Anatolia College and ACT organize Greece’s 1st Men's Lacrosse Games. The games start at 10 am at the Anatolia Alumni Soccer Field, with the participants being the ACT Sparrowhawks and Bulgarian lacrosse.
