BASKI

Anatolia/ACT was a partner member of a consortium working on a research project which was under EU funding (namely the SPO – Sport, Action SCP -Collaborative Partnerships Proposal, Call for Proposals 2019-EAC-A03- 2018) titled: Basketball for Life Skills (BASKI). The project ended in June 2022.

 Our network consisted of seven partners from six different European countries (among which the Center for Social Innovation, Cyprus, run by an ACT alumnus, with the Cyprus Basketball Federation as the leader of the consortium. The project developed a training program for basketball coaches, sports educators, sports and education decision makers on how to promote basketball among primary school students as a medium of life skills development, with emphasis on civic participation and social contribution. Through a series of actions, BASKI partners introduced basketball as a sport, and at the same time will encouraged the young people by setting the right foundations for a lifelong sports involvement, which in parallel develops their major life skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, empathy, leadership, decision making, planning, visioning, empowering their active social participation and contribution.

EuCogII

2nd European Network for the Advancement of Artificial Cognitive Systems, Interaction and Robotics

The 2nd European Network for the Advancement of Artificial Cognitive Systems, Interaction and Robotics is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission under the "Cooperation": Information and communication technologies program-https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/231281 EuCogII with a total budget of 1.908.337 euros sets up a network of several hundred European researchers in the wider area of artificial cognitive systems, with an emphasis on participants in projects of FP7 ICT "Cognitive Systems, Interaction, Robotics", building on the achievements of the FP6 project "EUCognition." We expect that the EUcogII will lead to a close-knit community of well-trained researchers, who have a clear sense of what has been achieved and of the challenges that lie ahead. The network comprises 8 partners and is coordinated by ACT’s Professor Vincent Müller at Anatolia College. The project starts on February 1, 2009 and ends on January 31, 2012.

EuCogIII

3rd European Network for the Advancement of Artificial Cognitive Systems, Interaction and Robotics

The 3rd European Network for the Advancement of Artificial Cognitive Systems, Interaction and Robotics is a continuation of EuCogII with a total budget of 1.996.165 euros-https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/269981.The project organizes a network of many hundreds of researchers and continues building the cognitive systems community in Europe, which straddles the divides of traditional academic disciplines in its work towards artificial intelligent systems that are autonomous, robust, flexible and self-improving in pursuing their goals. EUCogIII focuses on reaching out to show what artificial cognitive systems research has to offer and to increase the impact of the research already done. EUCogIII builds bridges from the network to related communities, especially with a view towards application of artificial cognitive systems research in robotics, but also in other areas of industry that move towards systems that are more intelligent and inspired by natural systems. Comprised of 8 partners, the project is coordinated by ACT’s Professor Vincent Müller at Anatolia College. Project timeline: November 2011 – December 2014.

Digital Do It Yourself (DiDIY)

Comprised of seven partners, the Digital Do It Yourself (DiDIY) is a Horizon Europe project that run for 30 months (January 2015-June 2017). The risks, social impact and ethical problems of Digital DIY are researched within the European research project Digitial DIY in "Horizon 2020." These issues are tackled by the research team of Prof. Vincent C. Müller and Dr. Alexandre Erler at Anatolia College/ACT. The Anatolia College/ACT budget is 229.688 euros.

Erasmus+

Anatolia/ACT was a partner member of a consortium under the Erasmus+ KA3 Social inclusion and common values: the contribution in the field of education and training which run the research project titled: InGame - Gaming for Social Inclusion. The project ended in June 2023.

The project involved the development of an educational online game, its associated services and maintenance and the dissemination of results on pedagogical practices among young adult learners. The network consisted of nine partners from eight different countries (Spain, Greece, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, and Romania) with the University of Salamanca as the leader of the consortium. The overall value of the game is to enhance critical reflection on social and political circumstances, build skills and stimulate interest for common values that would eventually lead to social inclusion. The program run from January 2020 to June 2023 and enhanced the College's research record and partnership opportunities with EU universities and agencies. It is beneficial both to faculty and students that participated in various stages of the project.
