Business Division

The business education envisioned by ACT is unique for its comprehensive view of management and explicit focus on fostering entrepreneurial approaches to management in the region. Graduates will have acquired an appreciation of the interactions among all elements of an organization and be ideally equipped to lead entrepreneurial activity throughout Southeast Europe over the next decades. The foremost goal of the business curriculum is to develop and strengthen students’ coherent and logical thinking processes in order to make and implement sound, ethically responsible business decisions throughout their careers.

Division of Humanities and Social Sciences

The Division of Humanities and Social Sciences provides introductory and advanced instruction in all areas of the human sciences, with undergraduate programs of distinction in English and New Media, Political Science & International Relations and Psychology. Teaching and research strengths within the division include: history, politics, and European integration; communication and media, modern literature, and language teaching methodology; psychology; anthropology; social and cultural studies. In addition, the Division offers a solid liberal arts course basis to all ACT’s academic and professional programs.

Division of Technology & Sciences

The curriculum of the Technology & Sciences majors is both rigorous and challenging, providing students with a strong theoretical background, but also the practical skills needed by organizations and companies across the board. Aiming for a well-rounded education, all programs are structured in a way that allows students to combine their solid scientific foundation with other disciplines. The school's General & Organic Chemistry, Biology & Microbiology, Physics, IT, Electronics-Robotics, and Fabrication labs are accessible to all students and equipped with state-of-the-art instruments and technology to facilitate experiential learning.

Brief Description

Students pursuing a degree in a field other than a BS in Biological Sciences, can earn a minor in Biological Sciences by completing the following six course requirements.

Brief Description

The minor in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence focuses on the emerging field of AI. The topics taught include an introduction to the Python programming language, knowledge representation, problem solving via search, logical and probabilistic reasoning and machine learning algorithms such as decision trees, Deep neural networks, supervised and unsupervised learning, state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies, data visualization, data processing and big data mining.

  • CS 340: Artificial Intelligence
  • CSC 360: Introduction to Data Science
  • CSC 345: Machine Learning
  • Capstone Project*

*The capstone project is not a regular course, it is an independent project undertaken by the student under agreement with a faculty advisor. The faculty advisor provides only supervision and assessment of the project and not regular instruction. Upon completion of the project and by the pre-agreed deadline the student submits the project to the faculty advisor, who then assesses it and reports the pass or fail grade (pass ≥ 75%) to the registrar’s, who in turn issues the certificate. The registrar’s will keep all projects on file for a minimum of 2 years.

Brief Description

The minor in mathematics provides a solid foundation of quantitative and reasoning skills for work in any major.
