ACT and the Jena Centre for Reconciliation Studies (JCRS) introduce the Second “Kavala International Summer School”
The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) and the Jena Centre for Reconciliation Studies (JCRS) at Friedrich Schiller University, in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Institute (www.fainst.eu), the MOHA Research Center (www.moha.center), and the Balkan Strategies International Synergies (BSIS) launch the 2nd Kavala International Summer School on the cultural and political importance of waters, domestic and international (Kavala, 3-11 September 2023).
The Summer School combines academic theory and the praxis of diplomacy to analyze policies and behaviors enabling reconciliation, tolerance, social cohesion, and good neighborliness at the local, national, and international levels, focusing on regional cooperation and development related to safeguarding the environment for future generations.
It is ideal for international relations, security studies, international law, culture, and environmental protection students and young diplomats, business people, and leaders. In addition, the participants will be able to improve their professional skills as they will work on real cases with politicians, leaders, and senior diplomats.
The program includes three cultural events and excursions to important archaeological sites and environmentally protected areas of Kavala prefecture.
The Summer School will be able to provide scholarships for some of the participating students.
